This book was first created as a screenplay. When a theater group in Maryland, USA expressed interest in doing it as a stage play, the author made significant revision to turn it into a play. Converting it into a book of the play meant having the space and the facility to add details that would not be possible in a stage production.
Scapegoat is a suspenseful story of a crime leading to another crime. Bringing Jeff Riznak to justice would mean keeping untold numbers of children safe from his predatory behavior. But the same religious system that allowed him to perpetrate his crimes also has the effect of covering them up. In fact, the blame is shifted to an innocent person who has been investigating the crime.
