About the author
Gloria Johnson-Gordon graduated from Saint Thomas University in Florida with a degree in Psychology. She taught at the Marian Center for five years, instructing children in academics, daily living, and pre-vocational skills before moving on to the Hope Center in Miami, where she spent four years teaching adults daily living and vocational skills.
Later, she began teaching at Wingate Oaks Center in Fort Lauderdale. In 1993, through TEACH, she completed a training course on serving children and youth with autism. She served on the subcommitee for the Autistic Pilot Program K-3 from 1992-1993. She was a teacher resource for model classroom organization and structure, behavior management, and effective teaching skills at Wingate Oaks from 1992-1993. She was nominated for the 1994 Broward County Teacher of the Year.
Though now retired from teaching, it's still her passion and she continues to give back as an educator. Out of her love for teaching evolved the back-to-basics, repetitive learning experience Say Your ABC With Me.
