Saudade

Saudade is the story of one woman's search for meaning, and the unexpected places that her search takes her.

Jillian has spent her life doing what was expected of her, and she has a life that many people envy- a nice home, a nice family, a nice job. But as she approaches her fiftieth birthday, Jillian can’t help feeling that something is missing. When the unexpected happens, she is thrust on a journey that is both thrilling and scary, and from which she can never return to the way she was. With the stark Rocky Mountains of Colorado as its backdrop, this novel explores the dilemma of the modern day woman who wants everything.

Diana Pooley Hurwitz began writing in 1995 when the idea for "Christmas Cards: Life Between the Lines" unexpectedly flooded through her. She finished her second novel "I Lay Me Down" in 2007. Saudade was inspired by some real life events, and by the beauty of Colorado. Diana lives in Colorado with her wonderful husband, Michael. When she is not writing, she enjoys teaching and practicing Yoga, gardening, reading, baking and hiking.
