by Irene M. Francis

"Rosita" is a beautiful place in the mountains of Southern Colorado that was once a booming mining town in the late 1800s.  It was on the ballot as a site for the State Capitol in its heyday, losing to Denver.  This is a historic recounting of the intrigue of this wild west town that has now nearly disappeared.

This is a non-fiction book based on interviews, photographs and writing about the history of Rosita, Colorado. It's a story of the mining industry at its height and what was left behind when the industry crumbled.
