About The Author

Megan Jordi Brody grew up Mennonite in the farmlands of Indiana. After living in Latin America, she became an immigration lawyer and co-founded the first non-profit in New Mexico dedicated to representing low-income immigrants in deportation proceedings. She now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and two children, who are biracial, multicultural and bilingual. She manages her own immigration law practice and loves going on new adventures with her family on the weekends. Megan wrote this book in response to her own son's questions about his race and identity at a young age. She hopes this book will help ground him and other mixed race and multicultural children as they discover their roots and begin to shape their own identities.
