About the author
Dwaine Casmey survived the streets by doing the things street people do – hustling, stealing, robbing, drugs, among other degrading acts in order to live for just one more day. He spent the better part of ten years incarcerated in boys’ homes, shelter homes, juvenile detention, and adult prisons. Because he missed out on developing a personal sense of value early in life, he treated himself and others with no respect. He was destined to be just another statistic: a repeat offender who would eventually end up permanently incarcerated or as another body in a morgue.
Today Dwaine is a Managing Consultant for a global information technology company and manages technical delivery for multi-million dollar enterprise software projects. With twenty-six years of software design experience and over two years assisting Microsoft with developing its global enterprise business application, Dwaine is recognized as a technical thought leader in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) industry.
As a result of his transformation, Dwaine began to feel a burning desire to share the story of his journey out of the muck and the mire into a life of love and freedom in order to provide hope for those who are lost, including their families watching from the grandstands. He wants anyone and everyone with a sense of diminished value to believe that change and high value can be attained, regardless of their circumstances, and it is his hope that his story will inspire change and bring hope to the lost. Dwaine lives in Castle Rock, CO with his wife Kathy.
