Overview
Return to Dignity is a collection of stories of faith, courage, hope and transformation from the women at Living Hope. Some of these women were sold into marriage when they were little girls. Many of them are HIV+ widows, who found themselves destitute and alone when their husbands died. Others were abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army, and forced to become sex slaves. All of them experienced stigma and rejection. Their lives will inspire and challenge you. All proceeds from Return To Dignity go directly to the programs that support these women and the thousands of others involved with Living Hope.
Description
Return to Dignity is a collection of stories of faith, courage, hope and transformation from the women at Living Hope. Marilyn Skinner describes the journeys of eight women who overcame adversity and emerged triumphant despite the many difficulties they encountered. Through compelling narrative, Marilyn Skinner reveals the resilience that exists in the places where people must overcome hardship and pain. Some of these women were sold into marriage when they were little girls. Many of them are HIV+ widows, who found themselves destitute and alone when their husbands died. Others were abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army, and forced to become sex slaves. All of them experienced stigma and rejection. These are the stories of women who had every reason to give up, but instead they rose above their circumstances and have now become conduits of hope in their communities. Their lives will inspire and challenge you. All proceeds from Return To Dignity go directly to the programs that support these women and the thousands of others involved with Living Hope.
