About the author
Felix is a registered nurse who has various interests in a lot of subjects and doesn't seem to have enough time to do a lot of things other than his job. He likes subjects about the environment, sports, science, arts and languages, religion, the paranormal and is fascinated with the human thought processes. He likes teaching and has coached students in spelling bee competitions. He is an avid hobbyist, doing a lot of gardening with his mini worm farm; collecting stamps and coins; making soaps, cooking, reading, writing, fishing, arts and crafts, and dreaming. Growing up in the1970's in Villaba, Leyte, Philippines, Felix found himself increasingly fascinated with the flurry of activities in his hometown – from Japanese relatives going around the rural areas to retrieve their war's dead, his parents stories of experiences in war, to the lore about the Yamashita treasures, and the Allied Landings on the shores of Leyte. Where dark nights are spent around a transistor radio or moonlit nights on the balcony of their homes telling and retelling these stories, his memories and wild imaginations finally caught up with him – giving in as he set everything on ink and paper on what is swirling around and inside his head. His first book, "Return to Biriland" is a product of his wild childhood imaginations about flying caskets, resurrected humans, spirit orbs and flying nuns in the setting of his high school alma mater – Holy Infant College in Tacloban City, Philippines – a privately run school by the Religious Sisters of Mercy. The book was also dedicated to his loving and supportive wife, Evelyn, on their wedding anniversary. He has degrees in the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, some units in Bachelor of Science in Supplemental Education, and a Doctor of Medicine, specializing in Pediatric and Neuro Anesthesia in the Philippines. He immigrated to the US, and resides in Texas with his wife and two daughters and took a Masters in Science in Nursing-Education. He always has a sunny disposition, is very patient and has a very good attitude towards work. He is obsessed with accomplishing items on his bucket list – publishing a children's book being one of them. As he says "We are all travelers in this busy thoroughfare of life trying to leave a mark on the roads we have traveled, and I seek to leave as many marks as I can before my light is totally snuffed out."
