These poems were written between the ages 18 through 29 and are very much in the mode of a young person; a budding poet and philosopher struggling to build an identity as an individual while fully engrossed in the artistic experience and writing about that as well as universal human themes.

With a passion for cultural anthropology, human identity, and mental health as a quality of life issue, Raul's drive is to bring it all together in his writings, along with using the writings themselves as examples of the power of storytelling in humanity, as a key element of humanity, in hopes of inspiring people to keep storytelling alive and participate in our shared human experience through the Arts whether as a creator, performer, a listener, critic, etc. He has also released an album of original Rock music under the title "The Lito James Project," which is free to stream on YouTube and Amazon music and will soon be available to download or purchase on litojames.com. He swears there's more music coming! Raul holds a Master of Arts in Applied Philosophy and Ethics and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Nicole and their dogs, Luna and Tiger.
