Overview
This book is a memoir of my life at Schroon Lake since the late forties.
Description
This book begins with a chapter from my childhood.. The next portion is about the arrival of my children and their experiences at the lake. The third chapter discusses the changes that have occurred hare over the many years to this present time. Chapter four discusses various music experiences that I have enjoyed over many years. Chapter five discusses several important influences in my life here at the lake: Word of Life, Seagle Festival, and the Crear family. Chapter six is written by my grandchildren and discusses their special experiences while chapter seven is written by my grandchildren and discusses their special memories at the lake. Finally I draw a few general conclusions in chapter eight.
About the author
Susan Conroy's active lifestyle has been molded by being a wife, mother, scholar, athlete, musician, crafter, author and friend. While her children Melissa, Jeffrey, and Daniel and grandchildren Luke, Tyler, Kylie, Grace and Tate are her greatest joy, she has had a distinguished career in music and public administration. Susan holds a B.S. from the Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam), and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University. She has been a member of numerous professional organizations and has received many awards including a finalist for Colorado's National Distinguished Principal Award and the Colorado Arts Education Award. Susan has been a conductor, composer, accompanist and arranger of music as well as a festival chairman and adjudicator at music festivals. Currently Susan resides in Florida and Schroon Lake, NY with her husband, Allen and dog Butterscotch.
