Overview

Grab your red rubber boots, and let's head out to play! You're ready to take this journey. Where will the red rubber boots take us? Can you discover how their worlds surprisingly connect? Children as young as 4 years old to 8 years old will learn to recognize bullying. Combined with playful and sensitive illustrations, these incidents will encourage discussion about their own childhood experiences as well.

Description

This story of resilience will have you flipping back and forth between strikingly different childhood experiences. You'll follow two children as they grab their red rubber boots and head out to joyfully play. Then you'll peek inside a series of bullying incidents and meet a child who shared them with no one. Written to be a helpful pathway to open discussions and sharing about bullying so no child will hide away alone ever.

About the author

A sister to three younger brothers, a mom to a son and daughter, and a grammy to Caleb and Kylie. A teacher of Language Arts, Theatre Arts and Dance. It would appear that I have completed the "natural order" cycle of life! While teaching, I witnessed daily the joys and pains of being a child. With my propensity for silly, laughter, hugs and most importantly, the ability to listen, I learned to help the child endure and heal. I'm excited about writing positive material along with heartwarming illustrations dealing with common childhood experiences that can enrich or forever alter a child's life. Hoping my work encourages everyone to remember what it was like to be a child and how important it is to be heard.
