Description

Attorney John Reynolds returns to his childhood home for the funeral of his father, the patriarch of the Reynolds family, Calvin Reynolds. Calvin was the wealthy owner of Riverdale Plantation, a 10,000 acre farm in South Georgia. John Reynolds learns his father has left him a letter imploring him to investigate the disappearance of his brother, Jack, 30 years ago. The letter contains clues and implies of dark secrets on Riverdale Plantation. He follows the clues and learns his father was involved with a sinister criminal organization whose members are now in powerful positions. He enlists the aid of his brother's best friend who is now the Assistant Director of the GBI to help him solve the mystery. As John Reynolds follows the clues he must also deal with the memories of the conflicts he had with his father who had been a cruel racist. He learns he is investigating a dangerous group when he discovers the murder of a former acquaintance who was about to reveal certain secrets. Though his life is in danger, Reynolds persists and solves the mystery of his brother's disappearance.

About the author

John W. Long is a retired Federal Agent with more than 35 years law enforcement experience. He has been a police officer, a homicide detective and a military intelligence officer. He served on the Vice President's Narcotic Drug Task Force in Miami and was the Special Agent-in-Charge of the DOT Inspector General's Office in Atlanta, GA for six years prior to his retirement. He lives in Cumming, GA with his wife, JoEllen and his Havanese pup, Bailey, where he is working on his second novel.
