About The Author


Melissa River-Clark grew up in Oak Park, Illinois, and attended Oak Park/River Forest High School. Some of her fondest memories are of her hometown and that high school. She made some dear friends in grade school (Oliver Wendell Holmes) who are featured throughout the story. Her grandmother knew Ernest Hemingway; they went to a football game together. Melissa is married, has two children, James and Ashley (twins), and resides in a suburb of Chicago with their beautiful black Labs, Rayna and Kiera.
