Rachel is number three in a family of six children. Her oldest brother suffers from epilepsy. The next brother is slow in school. Rachel adores her father, but repeated rejection takes its toll on their relationship. Rachel's mother, Cora, is in a marriage that was forced upon her. Rena and Rachel are close at times, but they do fight. Roxy develops a drinking problem. Peter, the youngest, spends time in jail. Cora never asked Pete for a dime. Her parent's support her. Cora is a miser. Rachel rejects her uncle's influence. Nathan accepts Jesus Christ. Rachel makes her own way in the world. Unfortunately, she is led astray early in life. She wins the Miss. Flame contest in Melbourne, Florida. Her father is the Fire Marshall at Cape Canaveral. Rachel goes off to college. She meets the love of her life. Mike Downing and Rachel Boone marry. Mike had rejected a call to ministry. He is drafted by the Denver Broncos. They are married fifty years. Their trials and tragedies are too much for them.
About the author
I am a former school teacher. My associate degree is from Gulf Coast State College . My degree in Elementary Education is from the University of West Florida. I also obtained my masters there. I also attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. This is when I began to take up writing. A senior newspaper in Atlanta published an Easter poem that I had written in 2008. In 2010, I took two writing classes from the University of Arkansas. These were by correspondence. Presently, I am a carrier for the Panama City News Herald. I've written four commentaries to the editor that were published. I recently attended a writer's conference at Gulf Coast State College. I was inspired to write eBooks.
