About The Author

Charles “CC” and Helen Womac Burgess met and married in Annandale, Virginia, and eventually made their home in Rainswood, Virginia, with their two daughters, Jennifer and Rebekah. CC is a native of Rainswood and a fourth generation member of Oakland United Methodist Church. He graduated from Northumberland County High School and was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Helen is a native of Cleveland, Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee Technological University, the St. Thomas Hospital School of Medical Technology, and the National Institutes of Health Blood Banking School. Her career was with the Virginia Commonwealth University Heath System. CC and Helen now enjoy their four grandchildren (pictured above), gardening, church, and family history. They are members of the Northumberland County Historical Society and Oakland United Methodist Church in Mulch, Virginia.
