About The Author


Dr. Richard L. Blake has worked as a podiatrist at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital's Orthopedic and the Orthopedic and Sports Institute for over 40 years. He is trained in Podiatric Biomechanics and his career has specialized in biomechanics and sports medicine. He teaches at the California School of Podiatric Medicine and is a previous President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. This is his 4th book in Podiatry, sports medicine, and biomechanics. He lectures worldwide on biomechanics and sports medicine topics, and runs a YouTube channel and a podiatry blog called Drblakeshealingsole. Two podiatrists from Spain, Carlos Martinez Sebastian and Alvaro Gomez Carrion, have also contributed to this textbook.

It serves as a great reference book for our podiatry students and residents, as well as a great review for practitioners. It provides Dr. Blake's approach to different injuries and conditions based on his many years of experience in practice. It summarizes the recommended treatment options available to care for your patient, provides clinical case questions to test knowledge, and great rehabilitation and stretching/strengthening exercise review. Dr. Blake has dedicated much time, energy, and patience to put together this great series for us to help train and educate our profession at all levels.
