Overview
Widowed for more than six years, I decided to seek a man who might spend New Year's Eve with me. That was my goal as I signed on to a respected dating site. Very soon I was matched with this intriguing Steed who lived several states away. The New Years date never materialized, but there followed two years of a long-distance love affair which changed me forever. Charlie romanced me, enchanted me and took my heart as no one had ever done before. An actor, an attorney and an athlete in his seventies, he had his way with me, thank God! I used to say to him, "Can you believe it, all this passion, all this delicious lust at our ages?" My lover's quick response was, "Why not…we should be doing this in our nineties and when we are a hundred." When Charlie held me, I thought all things were possible.

About the author
PatAnn is a very heart-centered and spiritual woman. She only writes about her deepest feelings, particularly in a supportive, encouraging way as we all make our journeys. PatAnn is excited to share Possibly Charlie, as the theme is unabashedly universal. The book began as a personal gift for her perplexing lover. At his suggestion, PatAnn agreed to share their story with others who take the emotional risk of loving again. This is the author's second published book. The first, A Child of the King (written under the name of Patricia Klinger Schrope), is a loving memoir of Tracy, her first born child, who lost her life to a childhood cancer at age ten. It has been endorsed by Bernie Siegel, M.D., who calls it "a book with a heart". It was originally written for Tracy's little sister, so that she would always remember. It has now found its place in hospital libraries, grief support groups, and in the hands of fellow parents who had to eventually survive the worst loss one can imagine. Bernie Siegel adds, "We are all wounded and so can learn from Pat Schrope's experience how to survive, ultimately thrive and learn that love is the only thing of permanence." PatAnn got her writer's feet wet providing feature stories for several newspapers. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She has lived in seventeen domiciles in seven states. She believes that love is love is love, and that grief and joy are close cousins.
