Overview

Poetry about loss of a child, a sister, a husband and best friend. Some poems are sad and dark while others show hope and feelings of inspiration.

Description

This book is about the grief suffered from the loss of loved ones during my lifetime. There are poems about the loss of my child, my sister, my husband and my best friend. Feelings of sadness and despair are felt in some of the poetry but there is hope and inspiration too. Life goes on and we need to let our thoughts and dreams out to find relief from this grief. Writing poetry has helped with the healing and has helped me realize that life is good.

About the author

This author was raised in rural Ontario near Lake Huron, the middle of three daughters. She married her soul mate and was blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. Her son died suddenly at age eleven devastating the family. Betty's daughter gave her five beautiful grandchildren bringing joy to their lives once again. Betty's older sister lost her battle with cancer leaving her with a heavy heart. Her husband died suddenly three years later and her best friend six months later. This caused overwhelming sadness. Trying to put her life back together Betty joined an online Poetry site and started writing poetry. Writing feelings and memories down has helped with the healing and hopefully her poetry will give comfort to others who have suffered losses in their lives.
