Description

"Pierre the Parrot's Guide to Paris" is the first-of-its-kind travel guide created specifically for children—and it begins with a real moment in Luxembourg Gardens, where wild green parrots sparked an idea that grew into something bigger. Pierre is inspired by a real parrot living in the heart of Paris, a sharp-eyed local who "knows" the city's hidden details and timeless landmarks, and who now guides young readers through them. This book introduces Paris through Pierre's perspective, giving kids a front-row view of the city's most iconic sights. From the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral, readers learn real history, pick up simple French, and connect with the stories behind each place. The approach is clear and engaging—no filler, no fluff—just meaningful details paired with illustration that hold attention and make each stop easy to remember. Grounded in a real-world origin, this isn't a typical children's book. It gives kids context. It builds curiosity. It shows them how places connect to history, culture, and everyday life. Pierre moves through the city with confidence, introducing young travelers to Paris in a way that feels natural and memorable, whether they've already visited or are seeing it for the first time through these pages. If you find yourself in Paris, take a moment to look up. You might just spot a flash of green soaring above the rooftops or gliding past the city's landmarks. Pierre isn't just a character—he's rooted in a real place, and he just might be out there, watching over the sights he calls home.

About The Author

Adam and Lauren Ringhof are the husband-and-wife team dedicated to the art of discovery. Founded on the belief that travel is the ultimate bridge to human connection, we specialize in storytelling that blends authentic exploration with world-class visual artistry. Our mission is simple: to document what matters and inspire a new generation to explore the world with intent.

Adam Ringhof brings a unique rigor to travel writing, shaped by a thirty-year career as an FBI Special Agent, Navy Intelligence Officer, and Congressional Affairs advisor at the Department of Defense. His years in national security developed an instinct for finding the "story beneath the surface," allowing him to blend history, culture, and authenticity into narratives that resonate with readers of all ages. His career also took him across the world investigating national security matters at the highest levels. It was during his Navy service overseas that he first caught the travel bug—an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for exploring new places, cultures, and perspectives. After more than three decades in public service, Adam turned his attention to writing, channeling his curiosity about people and places into books that help families introduce the world to their children. His work is grounded in a simple philosophy: travel is one of the most powerful gifts a family can give a child. Children who see the world become more curious, more open, and more comfortable in a world far bigger than their own backyard.

Lauren Ringhof is the visual soul of the partnership. With nearly twenty years as a professional photographer—including serving as the photographer for the Director of the FBI—Lauren has documented the Bureau's defining historical moments in Washington, D.C., and on Capitol Hill. Her ability to capture the essence of a moment is the foundation of our work, bringing every destination to life with artistry and meaning.
