My loves, Every day we have thoughts, and how we perceive those thoughts based on given information is what makes our minds unique. I am opening up my thoughts to you and invite you to join me in spirit and mind as we become one for these very moments. There was a process to these poems, and I encourage your inner creative minds to come out and play. With each poem, several people may read the same one, and each person will perceive it in their own way. First was the illustrator - a man with a creative eye who read each poem without knowledge of the subject. Through the words written down on the page, he saw a vision, which he then illustrated. This became his perception of my poems. Next was the portraitist– the man with the camera. He read each poem and envisioned his own scene and captured a visualization with a click of a button. This became his perception of my poems. And the most important element is you. Free your minds as you read each word, and indulge your curiosity. Allow your mind to wander and perceive each poem as your own interpretation. This becomes your perception of my poems.

What if you could view the world from someone else’s eyes—wouldn’t you be curious? Would their perspective create questions within your own personal thoughts? Would their world then become your world? I invite you to enter my mind as I bring you on a journey within my thoughts. Perception is an interactive hybrid poetry/photography book. The stories within Perception are based on my perspective of this mysterious place we call our world. Our world is changing—and with change, I continue to seek answers of the unknown—the physical things one cannot see. The idea behind Perception is that you, the reader, may enter my world. Although a painted picture is already present, while reading the words, I invite you to visualize these poems through your own eyes. It is now your turn to share with me your perception of my world.

Ever since I was a child I have been a dreamer. I have always thought that anything is possible and everything is reachable; it is only a hands reach away. Nothing could stop me then and nothing will stop me now. Still to this day my drive is fueled with undeniable passion. As a child I remember sitting under our grand piano and listening to my father play with such grace and beauty. The piano was my sanctuary. I use to try and crawl onto the piano bench to play those "black" and "white" keys just like daddy did. My voice might have been young but my lungs were preparing me for what was to come- my future, my destiny. I was and still am fortunate enough to have such supportive parents. I gained the independence from my mother and the mental strength from my father. It is not everyday you get to share the stage with your role model. When that spot light turns on I have my father standing next to me rocking out on his guitar as I give the audience everything I have. We chose to live our dream together with our group, Worhol. He always taught me in this business you have one shot so I took that to heart. Presentation is everything and how you care for others is how you will be remembered. Through strong faith I continue to be guided and through my love of life I cherish spreading positivity. I have always strived to be a role model. I want people to see that dreams do come true but that they don't come easy. Never giving up is the mental state you must choose everyday. To inspire someone most of the time results in them actually inspiring you. My father inspired me as a child and now I'm inspiring him to live out his dream. Time is of the essence and every breath we take we must cherish it. I have always known I was born to sing and through music I am allowed to do what I love most, connect with people. A simple story shared between strangers can complete the soul and can remind us of the comfort this world can provide. This is where writing became just as important to me. I've always had a vision when writing both lyrics and poetry. I wanted to take those visions and create a pathway where others can see what I see. I wanted to introduce the world to my perception on life. I have walked the selfish path and grew to learn that beauty lies within helping others. Whatever you want in life you must take it and I am doing exactly that. I am chasing what I longed for as a child, one dream at a time.
