Monroe takes the simple act of a little Prairie Dog named Penelope looking for a little peace in her world and weaves it into a story. Penelope has 'no time to play' with her sister, brother, and niece. She needs to find some peace and a place to think her big thoughts. Her journey takes her far and wide and she even finds a snack on her travels. When she finally reaches her destination of peace and quiet, she thinks and thinks. That is when the biggest thought she ever had comes into her mind.

Monroe is an award-winning author who shares her love for children and animals in delightful and timeless books for children. Her tales entertain while fostering acceptance and inclusion in the most curious places. Her dream is to put little books in little hands. Her other children's titles include Diego the Donkey, The Kitten That Could Not Meow, and Dungoolee. She lives in Melbourne, Florida with her husband, Scott.
