Overview
Priest, philosopher, poet, person—Michael Parker's theological and spiritual reflections stir us to regard the human journey of joys and sorrows, disappointments and hopes as a pilgrimage in faith, hope and love, the adventure of discovering deeper communication and communion with others and God. From the wonder of a December snowfall to the agony of a friend's betrayal; from the grace of marriage and baptism to the mystery of communion; from meditations on time challenging an openness to change to musings on the variegated manifestations of light, his verses unfold a path towards appreciating the human/divine qualitative richness in living.
Description
Contains fifty poems organized into four thematic sections: (I) Conversations in Time; (II) Seasonal reflections, secular and sacred; (III) Contemplation, Light and Dark; (IV) The Word and Silence. Also, an essay/afterword with reflections on language and creative writing inspired by imagination, springing from the mystery of Word. Some photos and paintings.
About the author
The Author, a British priest, for over thirty years has been living in Italy, at first in a little hamlet tucked away in the Umbrian mountains and more recently in the city of Saints Francis and Clare, Assisi. He has written books and various articles of spirituality focused on the Eucharist, which he regards as the sacrament of friendship par excellence.
