Description
In Our Southern Breeze, Daphene Jones tells the story about her life as the twin sister of Deborah Hall of "Same Kind of Different as Me". She knew Deborah like no one else could. And the story she tells is like no other story. At the Anaheim Vineyard conference in 1990, God promised to send a southern breeze over Deborah and Daphene. Neither of them could have imagined what that would look like or how many other people would eventually be touched by the promised breeze. This is their story of overcoming even the darkest times of life through redemption, forgiveness, and second chances. As she shares her heart through this story, her prayer is that God will heal the deep hurts that many are carrying. What she kept hearing as she worked on this book is that God is a God of Second Chances.
About the author
Daphene “DJ” Jones is the founder of DJ Consultants Inc. and is an authority on managing time and information. She acquired her organizational skills largely through training herself to become a highly successful sales representative with MCI Corporation where she was awarded a “Director’s “Chair” – the highest award for a top producer – after one year on the job. Prior to that she spent 18 years with Southwestern and Southern Bell where she rose from an entry level position as a service representative to assistant manager of three service centers. It was during the course of carrying out these responsibilities that she learned the importance and value of “working smart vs. working hard.” Her affiliation with a time management training company is when she began to learn and use her time management skills. She has coached and trained a wide range of office personnel, ranging from top level executives to administrative assistants, enabling them to gain control over their workspace and become more productive. In 1992, she ventured out with a passion and determination to make a difference in companies that struggled with information overload and started her own company, DJ Consultants, Inc. Since that beginning, Daphene has run a highly successful business focusing on providing efficiency coaching to improve personal productivity. Paying close attention to the market place, she realized that technology was changing the way people worked and adjusted the focus of her company to accommodate the new workplace. Validating that her concepts were on target, she easily applied the skills she had always believed in to the “electronic” office. Nothing changed…just the vehicle she was now using. Paper files could now be filed in the computer and Outlook became her new time management tool. An accomplished business owner, speaker and trainer, Daphene has addressed a variety of organizations. She has been featured on television and radio as an expert in helping people become more productive and efficient. Her story is about her journey with her Heavenly Father from her years of clinical depression, being paralized with fear and attempted suicide, to a life of God’s mercy and grace extended to not only her but to a whole family. Daphene is known for her warmth, humor and exuberance, and most importantly, for her passion for helping people make positive changes in their lives and jobs. She and her husband John now live in Suwanee, GA with their precious border collie, Hanna.
