About the author
In 1962, John Anderson left New Zealand for England on a one-year trip overseas. He returned 20 years later with a wife, a young family and an international tourism business – Contiki Holidays. On return he continued to run the Contiki Group and amongst other ventures, John built and operated two Resort Hotels, one in Queenstown New Zealand and the other in Queensland Australia. In recent years John has been interviewing ex Contiki staff, passengers, suppliers, travel agents and people the Contiki brand has touched. He has searched his memory and trawled through old company brochures, written material, newspaper clippings and photos. The story that has emerged is quite simply sensational!
