Description
Sandy McTavish is a seventeen-year-old girl with the usual high school problems--snarky girls, lack of a love life, and a statistics class that makes her brain hurt. To top it off, damned spirits are after her soul. Sandy has been taught by the best, though. Her mentor, a faerie named Drambuie, was sent to show her the ropes in battling the spirits and the black demon dogs that they ride. He is no small creature with wings, but a human-sized warrior with decades of experience. Drambuie and Sandy have been working together for two years to protect those in physical or emotional danger from the damned spirits, whose goal is to steal mortal souls for their evil army.
All of this must be kept secret--only those with ancient Celtic blood in their veins can see the army of the damned spirits and really, who would believe Sandy if she told them? Fortunately, her best friend Anita is one of the few. When a new boy named Nate shows up at their school, Sandy finds herself trying to figure out what he's hiding. Their relationship is by no means simple, but they are drawn ever closer. Roger, another new student, tries to get in the way every chance he gets--his obsession with Sandy begins to raise concerns for her safety.
New threats in the form of betrayals, hidden identities, and a powerful ally of the devil himself combine to threaten Sandy and all those she loves. Sandy is forced to make difficult choices in order to try to protect her family and friends. Will her sacrifices be enough to save them?
