Overview
Dark visions of a near future, one in which you never leave your workplace.
Description
"The computer turns itself on every morning. I only know it's morning by the light level in my cubicle. Its walls stretch to the ceiling where a bulbous cross-hatch of lights brightens then fades to mark the passage of time. I have never been out of my cubicle. It has been my workspace and my home for as long as I can remember. When I'm not sleeping, I'm working. I have three minutes to get in my chair and log into the system. I know what happens if I don't."
About the author
Brad Foster is excited to publish his first short story, "No More Weekends". It is a dark tale of a possible future. He is hard at work on his next short story, "Radio Is Not Dead", scheduled for release in late 2014. Brad spends his time playing piano for fun and charity, cooking, reading and, of course, writing. In order to spend more time writing, he recently gave up gardening which had been a hobby of several years. He was most proud of his genera of weeds and the ability to feed the neighborhood rabbitry. Alas...sacrifices must be made. He lives with his dog Wiggles who is more of a slob than Brad, and his cat, Zaria, who keeps everyone in line.
