New Beginnings

Walt, a newly retired owner of a construction company, was looking forward to a new, care-free life as a retiree. He was planning to immerse himself in his wood-crafting hobby and to reserve plenty of time for lots and lots of fishing. After the tragic death of his wife fifteen years earlier, he'd lived the life of a single dad to his three boys while building a very successful business. He was ready to kick back and enjoy a quiet, leisurely, uncomplicated life into his golden years. Then he met Katie. Katie, well into her sixties and two years a widow, was perfectly content with her life. Her grief over the loss of her husband had eased and getting back to socializing with her women friends had brightened her outlook. She was high spirited with an impish streak by nature, and she'd gotten used to being without a man under foot. She was happily living life as it was meant to be until one morning, while on a quick trip to the grocery store, she was catapulted into a topsy-turvy life she never could have imagined.
