Overview
This is gripping story of never giving up, never accepting that you can’t, and never believing that you won’t fulfill your destiny.
Description
NEVER GIVE UP is a true, inspirational story of an African-American boy born in the inner city, abandoned by a philandering father, and mutilated by a childhood accident. Yet, nurtured by a strong mother, supportive grandparents and driven by an indomitable will, he breaks down barriers to overcome his adversity. The young man resolves deep-seated emotional conflict, becomes a respected physician, and rises to the top of his profession. His struggle to become a man is exacerbated by his life-long conflict with his father. In the end, though, father and son find reconciliation. In a time of epidemic father-son dysfunction, this memoir speaks to countless boys and men abandoned by their fathers and to generations of wives, mothers, grandmothers, and families who willingly sacrifice so much to save them.
