Description

This collection of 51 stories includes images of Licking County veterans. These stories were originally published in the Newark Advocate before being adapted for this collection. Veteran stories are meant to convey personal experiences, not historical information. It is intended to give reflections on the veteran and his or her experiences. Whether they were men or women, black or white, immigrants or children of immigrants, all lived in Licking County and contributed to its development. As the saying goes, people die twice. The first time when their earthly body dies and the second when there is no one left to remember their name. Let us never forget our veterans in Licking County and let them suffer a second death.
