In the days of mourning following the loss of my beloved Rottweiler, Nora, I often found myself on lonely walks that were once filled with her faithful company. During one of these reflective strolls, a neighbor asked me if I had considered finding a new companion yet. Her words, 'sometimes you are also chosen,' resonated with me, though I had no idea how prophetic they would turn out to be. Fate led me to Bambi, a dog whose life began on the streets of Romania, marked by a struggle for survival. Her life dramatically changed one cold April day in Gusterita, when she was found severely injured and helpless in a roadside ditch on the A1 highway by a compassionate soul. Bambi, marked by fate, lay there, her body chilled, her fur soaked, with a broken spinal vertebra and a crushed spine, the victim of a car accident. The helpers from 'Animal Life Sibiu,' appalled at Bambi's condition but moved by her passionate will to live, knew they had to act. Despite their limited resources and the enormous challenge posed by Bambi's injuries, they began a desperate rescue effort. With each day that Bambi survived, their hope grew, and after three months of intensive care, she was at least able to sit up again. But in Romania, the resources for further treatment were limited. Bambi needed more; she needed a chance at a full life. Thus began a journey of hope that eventually brought her to Germany, a country with better opportunities, carried by the belief of the helpers that one day she might walk again.
