Based on true events—My Stroke of Fate—is a fictionalized story of the author's life. At the age of 53, he suffered a devastating stroke. The condition left him partially paralyzed in his left arm and leg. He also had disabling cognitive defects. After months of rehabilitation he regained functions and the ability to walk with a cane. Upon release from the hospital he was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. My Stroke of Fate is a detailed account of the day-to-day struggles due to brain injury and cancer. The author invites individuals who have suffered a brain trauma to enter his own recovery. His intention is to give them encouragement for the future.
