From karate kid to rock climber to “petroleum transfer engineer,“ (gas station attendant), to amateur mechanic to salsa dancer to flamenco dancer to travel photographer to graphic designer to illustrator to entrepreneur to published author, Sandy Jane Peic is a strong believer in following her heart and has filled her life with amazing adventures and experiences because of it. An advocate for empowering children, she helped to co-found Guitar Starz Club, a non-profit “gamified” group guitar program that is carried in schools in Toronto, Canada. She also contributes to Girls Incorporated of Durham®, where the challenges of our girls today have made such a profound impression on her that she was compelled to write “My Power Spells” to guide her daughter and all the daughters of the world. In her debut picture book, “My Power Spells”, Sandy Jane Peic weaves curious and captivating patterns with profound yet simple verse together to create a powerful book of spells for young girls. The intention of My Power Spells is that it becomes a special source in a girl’s life, starting as early as possible, so the affirmations become part of her inner and outer vocabulary. Her wish for this book is that it guides our girls throughout their lives and lovingly be passed on to the next generation of enlightened daughters.
