At the age of eight years old he is being watched over by his sometimes over zealous older sister, who us in charge of him for the summer months. In his mind he is a prisoner and she is the jailer. The adventures begin when he gets in his mind to breakout to grab his bike and ride. His sister not to be outwitted knows where he'll be and how to control him. His adventures will take him from a neighbor in need to finding someone else's lost treasure. He and his friends will make the best of those summer days with imagination and work. His father will give him opportunities to learn what he calls, 'men's work' and survival in the wild. Then the day comes when summer ends and his mother drops him off at school, summer days over it's time for a different learning experience.
