My Family History: A Journey from the 1300s

By Tamim Choudhury

Overview

A South Asian family history that goes up to the 1300s—this is Tamim Choudhury's treasured subject. From the expansion of Bengal Sultanate that was co-led by his ancestor into Sylhet—northeastern Bangladesh—to his clan's globalization across three continents outside Asia, this is his story. Anyone interested in knowing more about Sylhet, Bangladesh, and South Asia should take a glance at this book. If not interested, at least use it as a decorative piece for your coffee table; the cover does look like artwork, right? Written in honor of his maternal grandmother—the first woman to donate her eyes in Bangladesh—this storybook encompasses the Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, British India, up to post-independent Bangladesh. A yearslong project to learn about his homeland, this is the author's end product.
