About the author

I am Betty J. McClain Love. I was born to Mr. Jimmy Roy McClain and Mrs. Gertrude McClain. The seventh child of nine children. My oldest Little Roy who was named after my father. I never got the chance to meet because he was killed at a very young age; he was running for his ball in the street. I am a mother of three cool children, my oldest is thirty-three and my twins are twenty-four and I have six great grandchildren. I studied early children hood development at Cuyahoga Community College. I am still presently residing in the same city I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, October 7, 1957. I have been singing since I was a teenager. However, writing for me has been something I have done since I was in elementary school. I began writing short stories for the English class I was in at the school I attended. It was as though reading was an art I picked up a truly enjoyed. In my English class, we often did short stories and after the teacher graded our stories, she handed out comments. Some of the comments were encouraging and some were even better. One story I wrote in particular The Lonely Girl was about a girl whose parents were not that close with each other in affection. In turn, they showed no affection with her. The girl in the story in her heart did search for affection but actually learned to love by helping others and receiving the love back through the people she met. She did feel lonely in the hours she spent by herself. Until she met a young man who showed her love from the inside out. In addition, she was lonely no more. I did of course put writing on a back burner. Therefore, I dug out my pencil and typing skills and am ready to launch my writing skills into action.
