Overview

This is a flowing three part book beginning with my mother's retirement in assisted living, discovering that she had pancreatic cancer and explaining and removing the myths surrounding funeral goods and serviece

Description

Many people agree that they do not understand purchasing funeral goods and services. This includes the purchase of caskets and burial vaults. Right in the center of all of this is the filing of death certificate, any military papers needed, type of funeral service (often depends on traditional burial or cremation). Church or other facility for service. Clergy person(s). Since so many people do not understand all that is involved in caring for a dead human body, we have included information that can actually be helpful in the purchase of funeral goods. The book moves on to introducing the reader to the process of embalming and speaks briefly to cremation and other alternate possibilities. This is your family member, friend,....and you want respect paid to the deceased without robbing the bank. We will share with you means of attaining this goa.

About the author

I am a semi-retired funeral director now working with folks with little money for the type of funeral many of them desire. I learned much during my funeral home internship. I found myself concerned by the high prices, consideration of family members and their questions, little knowledge regarding why caskets are priced as they are and how to choose a lesser charge and still receive a quality casket . I am passionate in presenting this information to the public. As a member of a Franciscan religious community, I have vowed poverty. This does not mean living in severe poverty that would hinder many of our ministries. Additionally I have earned:RN, BA, psycyology, Dmin ministry, and several others that continue to inform my ministries.
