Overview

"Mercy Beyond All Understanding" is a look at Mercy's interaction with humanity through the life and eyes of David, King of Israel. Mercy is brought to life through David's lustful experience, failure, trouble, and forgiveness. The reader will experience God's compassionate heart towards all people, regardless to cultural diversity or religious conviction. Mercy is brought to life through its interaction with each person who can identify with God's love. It is a non-denominational, non-doctrinal writing that depicts how Mercy comes to the rescue of everyone who finds themselves in trouble. Mercy can be realized each day because God's compassions are new every day and His Mercy is endless throughout all generations. Indeed, God's love shows "Mercy Beyond All Understanding!"

Description

"Mercy Beyond All Understanding" is a look at Mercy's interaction with humanity through the life and eyes of King David. History records him as being a "Man after God's own heart," but he wrestled with a fallen nature that created for him a confrontation with the Law, which demanded the death penalty. The reader shall see David on trail for his life with the Law as the Prosecuting Attorney and Mercy standing as his Defense Attorney. Mercy does not encounter a victim or an offender with the purpose of bringing them into a court of common opinion without first understanding the person before considering the act committed. Mercy is never quick to judge actions and behaviors. It understands that one’s behavior is often enacted from desperation; desperation of the soul’s inner conflict with itself. As a result, Mercy shall defend David, the King of Israel because she is indeed a representative of God's profound love. Mercy always mediates between brokenness and forgiveness, between life and death, and between doubt and expectation.

About the author

Dr. Billy R. Newman accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at the age of 18, under the leadership of his present Pastor and Father in the Gospel, the Honorable General Prelate Dr. Sherman S. Watkins of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc. For the past 46 years, Dr. Newman has dedicated his life to serving the Lord in any capacity possible; but foremost, he has served as the personal armour bearer to Dr. Watkins. At an early age, Dr. Newman developed a passion for studying God’s Word. He generally spent 8 to 10 hours each day in study, which all worked to prepare him for the unique teaching ministry he has today. He was ordained to the ministry at the age of twenty-one and simultaneously held the offices of Youth President and Adult Sunday School Educator, in which he still retains 100 members in his class, as well as being appointed to several National Offices for Higher Ground. He is the National Dean Emeritus of Education for Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc., from 1994 to 2004. He developed and wrote the original comprehensive study criteria and testing materials for the deacons, ministers and ordained elders. He served as the primary instructor for the Higher Ground Bible Institute in Columbus, Ohio from 1991 to 2005. A gifted teacher, Dr. Newman has created study guides and teaching curriculums on various books of the Bible as well as topics on "How to Study the Bible" and "A Biblical Research in Systematic Theology." He has developed a lesson series on "Ministering for Ministers" that cover a broad range of topics for ministering and preaching, including hermeneutics and homiletics. He has a published work entitled "A Layman’s Guide to Systematic Theology.” In 2003 Dr. Newman began the Impact Evaluation and Development Consulting Firm. He has expertise in writing community based programs, grants, business plans, and 501 (c) applications. His consulting firm has developed a program for church reorganization and administration. He holds his Bachelors in Theology, his Master of Arts in Theology, and his PhD in Religious Education from International Seminary. He is currently pursuing his second Doctorate, DPHIL Integration of Religion and Society, ABD from Oxford Graduate School. In 2011 Dr. Newman found “Building Better Opportunities Interdisciplinary Research, Inc.,” a 501 (C) (3) organization dedicated to researching Cognitive Social Emotional Behavior and its affects on the family and society, as well as providing intervention services for single family parents and their children who are at-risk. Although Dr. Newman has an anointed and dynamic ministry, he will readily tell you the more he learns about the Lord the more he realizes that there is so much more to know. He continues to "Pursue God with the Heart of a Thirsty Sou!"
