A young bachelor 2d Lieutenant Skillman on his first assignment learns his trade from a seasoned Company Commander, Captain Joe Hackett. Hackett is a battlefield commissioned officer from the Korean conflict, and he brings a new kind of tactic for leading the troops. Sullivan realizes how effective the procedure is when he applies it on an assignment, which took a rifle platoon to Kabul, Afghanistan. Amidst his military prowess, the Lieutenant acquires a Mercedes sports car and a German shepherd dog who lead him to the love of his life, Heidi. About The Author


Robert Faulkender is a retired Army officer, businessman, and college professor. His military experience included two tours in Vietnam. His undergraduate degree is from West Point and his graduate degree is from Georgia Tech. Mr. Faulkender's subsequent experience as a business owner and international consultant qualified him for nearly 10 years as a college professor at American InterContinental University. He lives at Indian River Colony Club in Viera, Florida with his wife Luanne. His current interests are travel, reading, writing, and mentoring high school students.
