About The Author

Deb Tranter spent many happy years as an elementary school teacher, sharing her love of learning, laughter, and imagination with her students. Now retired, she continues to support her community by volunteering with the local school board and not-for-profit organizations that help under-resourced families in her hometown of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Publishing her first children's book, "Bert the Boxer," was a dream come true. Her second, "Melissa the Marvelous Monarch," is a heartfelt tribute to her beloved mother, whose encouragement and belief in following dreams continue to inspire Deb's journey—and the stories she shares with children everywhere.
