About the author
The author worked his way up from copy boy to section editor in a 37-year career at the San Jose Mercury News. He has been the author of the Beatles Examiner column since 2008 and writes three other columns on the Beatles, one on vintage rock 'n' roll and one on TV on DVDs at Examiner.com.
