Celene, a young single parent, scratches out a new life of the shreds of an abusive relationship with Buddy, a notorious low life, who threatens the lives of her family. Jimmy Burke, the leader of the local Shamrocks gang, races to flee the FBI with the help of his Shamrock gang. His brother, Robert Burke, a U. S. Senator, struggles to keep his life separate from Jimmy's shady activities. The tumultuous paths of the Burke's, Celene and Buddy and The FBI's charismatic director collide as each struggles to survive, while Iceland's famous volcano erupts, threatening safety in Europe where Jimmy hides from the Feds.
