Overview
I will begin the summary of my new book. "Major League Baseball's Finest...Ever", with a confession. My love for the game of baseball is enormous and well-documented as a player, coach, professional scout, and most of all, spectator. Thus, I felt I had a fair amount of knowledge about baseball, regarding facts and figures. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Before the actual writing was initiated, I spent approximately four months doing significant research, before I felt I was ready to put pen to paper. One realization became very apparent. I learned so much more through my due diligence in researching material for the book. I now admit, I really didn't know· as much about baseball, our National Pastime, as I thought.

As such, my goal was to invite each reader to take a step back in time and enjoy reading "Major League Baseball's Finest...Ever." At various points, smiles of agreement and contentment will appear. In addition, these words will be on the tip of your tongue multiple times; "I didn't know that." Trust me, you will from time to time put your head back and recall numerous pleasant times and events. Baseball certainly has a way of doing that. Also, at various junctures, you will disagree with me about various selections. Possibly, you did mutter, "This guy doesn't know what he's writing about. So and so is better than so and so." Additionally, a number of players played multiple positions. In those situations, I did my best to place them in a position they played the most games. When a reader disagrees with my selection of mine and has their own choice of a player, then I know my book has struck a chord. 1n a perverse sort of way, I have captured the reader's attention. Then I have achieved one of my goals. As such, this book is about one man's opinion. Who is to say who is right or wrong? Sports dialogue at its best. Actually, no one is right. And no one is wrong. As an example, a reader may think Derek Jeter should be at shortstop instead of my selection of Cal Ripken. Succinctly, this book is about opinions. Obviously, both are superstars. When that example is exemplified throughout the book, then I know l have succeeded in achieving one of my desired results, stirring emotion in the reader. I have brought the reader back to a certain pleasurable time in their respective life, that the reader has immeasurably enjoyed and treasured. Figuratively a "home run."
