Her interest focuses on the unique demands of Women. Wellness is top of mind and how to constantly manage wellness while juggling the demands of life. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer and managed the challenges with grace and poise, looking well beyond breast cancer became the clarion call. A wife of a 20-year Military Veteran, bringing solutions during an unprecedented time in American History with a viral pandemic consuming hundreds of thousands of lives, much of her advocating took on a temporary virtual face to further reach those in need. Born to amazing parents, James Lee Brown & Rachel Marie Guerrero Brown, in a small town in Lawnside, New Jersey, her life experiences of overcoming challenges and set backs came early when her father, who was everything and then some to her, died seemingly suddenly of skin cancer, when she was just 13 years old. Healing and wholeness has been a mainstay focus throughout her career. As a child, she suffered from asthma. Her frequent visits to the family doctor resulted in immediate relief and peaked her curiosity at a young age. From her early days she always wanted to know what happens to a child's body deprived of air, making it nearly impossible to breath one minute that is relieved instantly. Hijacked hopes of completing a medical degree to practice medicine after completing a Bachelors Degree at Rutgers University, staying as close to the profession by career choices gave her a unique perspective of the business of medicine. Advocating in a healthcare industry that moved from giving a doctor the freedom to practice medicine based on years of education and extensive training, to the beginning of governing bodies without such a background, determining medical care, became her mission. As a high performance sales professional, she learned to draw on her career training and layer her life experiences to elevate the importance of making health a priority. Carmen's desire to understand life at its core lead to her to complete another 4-year degree in Theology, From her childhood and into adulthood, the quest to not just understand the meaning of her life, but also answer questions such as, why bad things happen to good people, is life predestined or are we the masters of our fate, and many others. She served 10 years as a Leader in Inter-denomination Organization. The responsibility of organizing and managing teams of more than 120 people in Outreach efforts in the USA and Canada gave her tremendous insights into the uniqueness of each and every individual – men, women, husbands, wives, teenagers, young adults and children. Having a touchstone for truth and a way to measure and weigh life lead to a love for Biblical studies with a view toward teaching people how to apply the principles and understand life's manual. After all, every piece of equipment comes with instructions and her hypothesis remains, if God created man, than surely there must be a guide, a manual to detail how to optimize and function at your best! Carmen credits her looking well beyond breast cancer and thriving beyond a diagnosis of breast cancer to God and being a life learner. A graduate of Rutgers University with graduate studies at New York University and Wayne State University, 12 years at the bench as a research scientist, followed by academic studies in Biblical research at the former College of Emporia, allows her to bring faith, knowledge and experience in the challenges of today, whether they be physical, mental, or spiritual.
