Overview
When you're struggling, it's easy to find help. But when you're doing well, people are less inclined to stop what they're doing and help you further improve. The world will throw you into the deep end and watch to see you if sink or swim—especially in the high school and college years. Living Like a Leader is a lifestyle guide for people who are aware of their leadership ability, and looking to build on it.
Description
When you're struggling, it's easy to find help. But when you're doing well, people are less inclined to stop what they're doing and help you further improve. The world will throw you into the deep end and watch to see you if sink or swim—especially in the high school and college years. Living Like a Leader is a lifestyle guide for people who are aware of their leadership ability, and looking to build on it. Many leaders have trouble getting people to see their vision, or even finding people who share their goals. Usually this is because they don't fully know the true reason behind their actions. Using this book, you will be able to find and track your passions, leadership styles, and motives. You'll also learn some of the softer skills, such as community serbvice, financial literacy, and networking—all things that can be overlooked by those with leadership ambition. The goal of Living Like a Leader is not to tell you how to lead, but how to walk your unique path to success.
About the author
Harold Lowe was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in high school, his parents pushed him to join the Young Black Leadership Alliance—the organization that would build him into a leader of the local, and global, community. While in college at North Carolina A&T State University, he created multiple campus organizations and his non-profit organization, The Lowe Family College Fund, a scholarship organization for students seeking higher education. He also started a real estate and marketing company, the Lowe Management Team. As he got closer to receiving his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he began to contemplate his purpose in life. On campus he saw students who had the potential to be leaders, but seemed to be missing the key information that could take them to the next step. So he decided to create a manual to help them put the pieces together. In doing so, he hopes to create a domino effect of information, trickling down to student after student each year and creating a new reality for student leaders.
