Description

Living Aligned is a profound exploration of the relationship between the body, the nervous system, and the human experience. In a world shaped by chronic stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and disconnection, Moylan Ryan offers a grounded and compassionate path back to embodiment, resilience, and authentic living. Drawing from decades of experience as a somatic psychotherapist, movement educator, Rolfing practitioner, and Aikido teacher, Moylan bridges modern nervous system understanding with deeply embodied therapeutic practice. Rather than approaching healing as something that happens only through the mind, Living Aligned reveals how our lived experience is shaped through posture, breath, movement, tension patterns, emotional activation, and the body's continual adaptation to life. The book explores how unresolved stress and survival responses become organized within the body, influencing our perception, relationships, confidence, health, and sense of self. Readers are guided through concepts such as nervous system regulation, containment, embodied power, bracing patterns, emotional activation, shutdown, recalibration, grounding, and the restoration of internal safety. At the heart of the book is the understanding that true alignment is not perfection, performance, or positivity. It is the capacity to remain connected to ourselves as we navigate the inevitable challenges of life. Moylan emphasizes that healing is not about suppressing emotions or controlling symptoms, but about developing the ability to stay present within our experience without becoming overwhelmed, reactive, or collapsed. Blending practical insight, therapeutic wisdom, and accessible language, Living Aligned offers readers a framework for understanding why they feel the way they do — and how meaningful change becomes possible through the body. The book invites readers to cultivate greater awareness, emotional balance, vitality, and coherence between mind, body, and action. Both deeply reflective and highly practical, Living Aligned speaks to anyone seeking a more grounded, conscious, and embodied way of being. Whether navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, burnout, emotional reactivity, or simply longing to feel more connected and alive, readers will discover a path toward greater stability, clarity, resilience, and inner alignment.

About The Author

Moylan Ryan grew up in Ireland and, over the years, traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States before eventually settling in the Arizona desert. His lifelong exploration of human potential, embodiment, healing, and personal transformation has deeply shaped both his work and worldview. Moylan is a Somatic Psychotherapist, Movement Educator, Certified Rolfing Practitioner, and Aikido teacher whose work bridges the worlds of body awareness, emotional regulation, nervous system resilience, and personal empowerment. For decades, he has helped individuals navigate stress, fear, anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, emotional overwhelm, and the effects of modern life through an integrative approach that combines structural bodywork, movement, mindfulness, and somatic psychology. Drawing influence from disciplines such as somatic therapy, martial arts, nervous system regulation, and embodied awareness practices, Moylan specializes in helping people reconnect with themselves through greater presence, grounding, self-regulation, and alignment. His teaching emphasizes that healing is not simply about reducing symptoms, but about restoring connection to the body, reclaiming inner stability, and developing the capacity to meet life with greater adaptability, clarity, and resilience. His approach has been influenced by years of study in Rolfing Structural Integration, movement education, trauma-informed somatic practices, and the bodymind work of pioneers who recognized the deep relationship between physical structure, emotional patterns, and human behavior. Through his private practice, workshops, and teaching, Moylan has worked with clients from many walks of life, supporting them in cultivating greater freedom, vitality, confidence, and embodiment. In Living Aligned, Moylan brings together years of clinical experience, personal insight, and practical wisdom to explore what it means to live with greater coherence between body, mind, emotions, and action. His work invites readers toward a more grounded, regulated, and fully embodied way of being in the world. When not working with clients or teaching, Moylan enjoys movement, nature, continued study, and the quiet beauty of the desert landscape he now calls home.
