Emily Jones Cornette wrote and illustrated LITTLE ROCK while she was majoring in English at Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV. One of the class requirements was to write and illustrate a children’s book. LITTLE ROCK was well received by both the professor and the class and Emily enjoyed making the book. After Emily graduated college, she taught school for several years. Emily Jones Cornette is the mother of six children, grandmother of 3 children, great grandmother of 4 children and great great grandmother of 2 children. Emily was born and raised in West Virginia. She has lived in both Oklahoma and Colorado and currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland. LITTLE ROCK was written and illustrated by Emily J. Cornette in 1967.
