Little But Real Happiness

Hunter is an American ex-pat who recently moved to Hong Kong. Singular focus on his career keeps him isolated on campus, always worried about work, while being interrupted by annoying inconveniences that just get in his way, like the effects of the humid Hong Kong climate and hectic city-life. He feels like an outsider: his view of Hong Kong is that it's just another abstract and difficult obstacle to be conquered like any other non-personal challenge, a line-item on his resume. Hunter can only see himself at the center of it all and sees everything as an annoyance that's just in his way. This keeps him in a self-imposed prison, unable to open his eyes to the beauty that's happening all around him and be aware of the embrace from the Hong Kong people who've been reaching out to welcome him home.
