ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The author, Bryan J. Sweeney, PhD, has a doctorate in counseling psychology and has been serving and as a psychologist and life-coach for the past 13 yrs. He earned a BA from Baylor University, an MA from Sam Houston State University, and a PhD from The University of Houston. He has worked with and trained thousands of people and through his training and experience has developed a comprehensive and innate understanding of the way that human beings think, feel, and behave. Dr. Sweeney’s areas of expertise include counseling, forensic, sports, and corporate psychology.
He began his training at a university counseling center where he treated many problems and issues but the issue that was encountered most often was depression and the many forms that it takes. From there he moved to a world-renowned pediatric cancer center where he counseled terminally ill cancer patients and their families. He then entered an entirely different world by joining the United States Air Force, serving as a military psychologist. There he experienced the real life pain of war and loss. He treated active duty warriors and their families as they left for and returned from the devastation of war. He left the Air Force in 2005 and entered the world of private practice. In his practice, Texas Psychology Services, Dr. Sweeney treats and trains all ages, genders, and cultures. He daily teaches the tools and techniques to help human beings cope with and overcome the unhealthy aspects of their lives successfully.
Dr. Sweeney has worked with many different individuals and has learned something from every one of them. Whether you are a veteran returning home, a family dealing with life threatening disease, an adolescent learning to cope with life, or a senior citizen that feels forgotten about, Dr. Sweeney’s knowledge and understanding of our minds, emotions, and behaviors can help you greatly. It is his goal to teach you that you can take hold of and change your life for the better.
