Letters to Jennifer

From Maudie & Oliver

by Sharon Gray

Book Image Not Available
Overview
If cats could talk, what would they say? In the case of Maudie and Oliver, two precocious Siamese cats who reside with their LIP (Live-In Person), the conversations would be decidedly one-sided and focus mostly on grooming, the perfect sleeping spots and what humans are doing incorrectly. These letters to cheer up their friend Jennifer are amusing, insightful and fun for the whole family.
Description
Two precocious Siamese cats share their day-to-day adventures with their dear Auntie Jennifer and others who enjoy a good laugh. Maudie is a beautiful prima donna who has no qualms in telling others about the importance of her position in the household. Oliver is her more ordinary brother, who doesn’t get enough love because he lives with the prima donna. Maudie and Oliver wrote to their Auntie Jennifer, with some help from their LIP (their Live-In Person, author Sharon Gray), to cheer up Jennifer and keep in touch with her as she battled breast cancer. One reviewer wrote: “The letters offer a cat’s-eye view of the world that is frequently hilarious, sometimes poignant, and always engaging.”
About the author
Sharon Gray was born in Calgary, Alberta and has lived and worked (in the aviation industry) in western Canada most of her life. As LIP, she has only one life. She resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba with Oliver and Maudie, two smart, handsome and egotistical Siamese cats. She struggles with the 12 steps for caffeine addiction (black, hazelnut cream and industrial strength, please, or Tim Hortons) and is continually frustrated with the intricacies of blackwork embroidery and duplicate bridge. She writes when Oliver and Maudie tell her to do so.
