Overview

Letters of Fear & Love is a collection that asks what lies beneath the choices we make when confronted by the two most fundamental forces: fear and love. Through poetry, philosophical prose, and personal letters, Sophia Aguiñaga writes to remember and to remind: that our fears are woven from the same material as our love. With radical vulnerability, she invites us to explore how these variables shape our lives—how fear has taught us to protect ourselves, and how love demands we risk that safety for something more.

Description

Letters of Fear & Love is a nonlinear collection that moves the way memory does—circling back, pressing deeper, refusing tidy resolution. Sophia Aguiñaga examines how fear and love have shaped her: the cycles inherited, the patterns repeated, and the slow work of unlearning both.

This is not a book of answers. It is a record of one woman's unfolding—beginning where all seeds must: in the dark. Tender and unflinching, Aguiñaga dares to breach that darkness, to reach beyond herself, and to use all she finds to grow.

About The Author

Sophia Aguiñaga is a philosopher and poet whose work moves between page and stage, always returning to the subjects of love and justice. Her first book, Letters of Fear & Love, was transformed into an immersive experience with DawsonDanceSF: part choreography, part spoken word, part live reckoning.

She is currently writing Interior Castles, an evolution of her earlier work that investigates the possibility of decoupling love from survival, and explores what it would take to redefine love entirely.
